Attendance Policy
Absences, tardies and early departures disrupt your child’s education. There is no substitute for classroom attendance; therefore, please see to it that your child attends school daily unless she/he is ill. The reason for absences must be reported to the school in writing. On all written notes regarding absences the following information should be included: Student’s full name, date(s) of absence(s), specific reason, parent signature and parent printed name. There are also forms for reporting absences in the school office.

Students who arrive late to class miss the opening of the day. This is an important part of instruction. Our warning bell rings at 7:55 a.m., indicating it is time to line up to meet their teacher and start heading to class. Another bell rings at 8:00 a.m. and this indicates that students are already in class and instruction has begun. Please have your child on campus and ready to line up before the warning bell rings. Any child arriving after 8:00 a.m. is considered tardy.

If a student’s misses 3 or more days, they MUST bring a doctor’s note. Otherwise, the absences after the 3rd day will be unexcused. Parents will only have 5 days to submit the absence notes.

Parents MUST also provide a Doctor’s Note within 5 days for any early outs or students late over 30 Minutes. Otherwise they will be unexcused.

ANY absence notes turned in after the 5 day period will be marked unexcused. Also, family emergencies and personal reasons are unexcused per state law.
